AT THE SEASIDE
(written with Collin Barber)
gentle waves
a stick rocks
up and down
cigarette butts
amidst the shells
stroll for two
the evening breeze
pilfers her scent
shoreline calming—
a puddle of sunlight
on the jellyfish
an empty beach
if not for me?
lull of tides—
I stare at the sun
with my eyes closed
HICKORY, DICKERY, DOCK...
(written with Lorin Ford)
full playground
the dandelion clocks
all in the air
elephants, tigers and whales
romp in stratocumulus
sudden shower
everyone runs away
but Barbie and Ken
divorced parents—
trickles of sand
in the sand pit
an incomplete drawing
of the complete family
kindergarten—
Jack’s beanstalk reaches
the blue crayon sky
AT THE CLOSE OF WINTER
(written with Grzegorz Sionkowski — 18.02-26.03.2007)
warmer weather
the lost bill
in the light jacket
from the heap of dirty snow
a trickle of clear water
thaw
among muddy puddles
molehills
on the edge of the cloud
a pair of sparrows
smell of soil
at the top of the lamp post
an unmoved magpie
fingers to the sky
the fireman knocks a big icicle
off the roof
EARLY SPRING
(written with Jennie Townsend — 17.02-31.03.2007)
fresh waft
a yellow crocus
buzzes
a last wag from an oak leaf
already settling into mulch
movement
in the sunlit tree crown—
squirrel!
the orchid show
momma sets
her camera down
the silky willow catkins
still store the sun’s warmth
already Sunday—
cottonwood fluff
in a downward spiral
